Premium Summer Beauty Essentials
Hi all, I’m Amanda fromΒ Dreaming Pretty. The lovely Bethany mentioned on Twitter that she would like some bloggers to guest post for her whilst she is away so obviously I jumped at the chance as I love her blog. Bethany asked me to do something beauty related, obvs, but with a Summery twist so I wanted to bring you my current premium favourites that I have been loving throughout Summer.

First up is the Clarins Summer Bronzing Compact, this particular compact is from a year or so ago so isn’t now available to buy but the new Clarins Aquatic Treasures collection includes a new bronzing compact which is very similar. This just gives the prettiest naturally sunkissed finish to the skin, I love a good bronzer throughout Summer especially one with a slight shimmer to help towards that dewy finish and this is perfect for creating just that. I’ve gone through a good fair share of bronzers in my time and never found one that I love as much as this. The pigmentation is great, it picks up really well onto the brush and then blends seamlessly into the skin so it doesn’t look cakey.

Then we have the Clinique Pop Lipstick in Nude Pop. I love these lipsticks. They are super moisturising on the lips and feel really lightweight…perfect for the hot and sunny weather. I have shades Nude Pop and Poppy Pop from this collection, Nude Pop is pretty self explanatory, it’s a pinky nude shade that it gives that my lips but better effect. I prefer to wear this lipstick when I’m bronzing it up and then Poppy Pop is a bright red that is just summer in a stick. It’s like a bright pinky toned red lipstick that just screams summer.

Next is the By Terry Ombre Blackstar Cream Shadow Sticks. The whole beauty industry are having a real moment with cream shadow sticks currently, every single man and dog are selling these and there’s good reason for it; they’re ah-mazing. They’re so easy to apply and just so look effortless on the lids and these By Terry beauties are no exception. The formula is really creamy, as you would expect with a cream shadow stick, but the lasting power of these are just phenomenal, which is why I have been reaching for them on pretty much a daily basis throughout summer. They don’t crease at all and no matter how hot and sweaty I get sat in an un air-conditioned office the product is still going strong at the end of the day. I honestly can’t recommend these sticks enough.

For my perfume I have been loving the Jo Malone Peony and Blush Suede. Not quite sure what the blush suede is all about but this fragrance is super pretty and light, perfect for the summer months. It’s a really subtle scent that is balanced extremely well but lets face it would you ever expect anything less from Jo Malone. When first spritzed it’s quite fresh and crisp smelling but once it is has settled onto the skin for a while it turns slightly musky with deeper base notes. It’s absolutely lovely and great for this time of year when you want something that feels light and subtle but still gives a lovely fresh scent.

So if any of you read my blog Dreaming Pretty then you will know what a fan I am of the Dior Glow Maximiser. This stuff packs a serious punch in the glow department. I use it mainly as a primer but it can also be used to mix into foundations and also as a highlighter on the high points on the face. I love a good dewy base throughout Summer and this is the product that I always turn to to achieve that look.

Lastly it’s the Clinique Turnaround Revitalizing Treatment Oil. This is a relatively new addition to my collection and I completely adore it. It’s absolutely perfect for us dry skinned gals that love a good oil but I find sometimes that some oils are a little too heavy to use in the mornings when I am wearing makeup but oh no not this oil. It sinks in super fast, like speedy gonzales fast, so doesn’t leave any residue or stickiness behind. It’s super lightweight but also super hydrating which is exactly what my skin needs at this time of year.

So there you have it, my current premium summer beauty favourites. I’d love to hear your thoughts on any of the above products and also if you have any recommendations.

Thank you Bethany for having me.
