What a year 2016 has been! It’s been another fabulous year of blogging and discovering lots of new beauty products…
I’ve tried so many new brands and products in the last year such as lip kits and setting sprays. So today I’ve decided to share with you all my beauty favourites I’ve grown to love in the last year.
Of course some of these are new releases and products that have been around a while…
Marc Jacobs Decadence Perfume I received this perfume for Christmas in 2015. Throughout the year its been my go-to perfume for nights out and its one of them fragrances that last all night, when you’ve stopped smelling it people around you will still be able to smell the violet scent and compliment you. It’s such a distinctive scent that reminds of parma violets, it’s so sweet and musky and really smells luxurious. I’m so pleased I received another bottle for Christmas so it will definitely be used through 2017 also!
Lancôme Grandiôse Eyeliner (here) is by far the easiest liner I’ve tried. Since I got this liner its perfected all my eye makeup looks. The only downfall is it dries up quite quickly and this is my second one in a few month, however 90% of the time I achieve my flick first time. Not many liners I can trust to do that, it’s long-lasting, dries super quick and all around great product from Lancome.
MAC Russian Red (here) is my favourite red lipstick of all time. Seriously. It’s bright, its matte and it’s always my first choice when it comes to a red lip. I love Mac lipsticks, what’s not to like? I know Mac do lots of different shades that has so many different tones, finishes but this for me never fails. I can wear this and not even have reapply once on a night out, if you fancy a new red – try this…
Urban Decay All Nighter Foundation (here) is by far the nicest foundation I’ve tried in a while, if not years. In the last two years I’ve tried a mixture of high-end brands from Lancome, Dior and Mac. I first tried their original Naked Skin foundation and I loved how dewy it was and it just really complimented my skin and set my makeup lovely. When this got released in 2016, I had to see what all the fuss was about. The All Nighter means what it says, its waterproof, its long-lasting, its matte and its so good for all skin types I think. I’ve only had it a couple of months but I’m loving it so far!
The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer (here) is a cult favourite in my eyes. Everyone raves about it as being one of the best highlighters and to tell you the truth, it is! If your after a beautiful sheen that’s not too pale or too golden, then this is for you. Its sort of like a pearl colour and looks amazing when you contour. This is my second powder this year and I know it’s all broken but there’s so much left of it to chuck away. It also works lovely as eyeshadow too.
Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Lashes gives you the false lash effect in minutes. I’ve tried dozens and dozens of mascaras but this is by far the best for my long lashes. It curls them, thickens and gives me the volume I just love! A lot of people are shocked that its my own lashes when I wear this and for a luxury mascara, this doesn’t dry up like most do.
Urban Decay Naked 3 (here) is such a gorgeous palette. I really enjoyed using this palette in 2016, especially in the summer. You can make effortless rose gold and smoky eye looks and even though the shades are more golden I can use this all year round. What’s not to like?
Kylie Cosmetics Posie K (here) is my only lip kit but it’s definitely made a lasting impression. After umming and ahhing whether to get one, I’m so glad I got this! Not gonna lie I’ll probably treat myself to a couple more this year but this shade is so pretty. It’s like a mauve pink and pairs really nice with nude lip liners. It’s fast drying and it can sometimes be a bit drying on the lips but I don’t mind the feel of that. If you can recommend me what shade to get next, let me know!
Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray is the one! I can always rely on this beauty to keep my makeup in place whether its their foundation or any other one. I specifically use this for applying eyeshadows, it makes them so much more pigmented and obviously sets it better. Over the festive season I wore a lot of glitter pigment so I used the setting spray to keep it on my eye lids. I dunno how I managed to keep my makeup on without this!
So there you have it, 2016 is over and these have been godsends over the past year! I hope you all had a great New Year and I’m really excited to see what this year brings.. I also wonder what beauty I’ll be tempted to try and what get released.
Are any of these your favourite?
