This has been 2018; what’s coming in 2019!

It’s easy to say that 2018, went in a blink of an eye!

We’re already a week into the new year and it got me thinking, what did I get up to? I haven’t done a lifestyle post in a while. In fact, its exactly a month since I blogged so, Hi! I’m back.

I haven’t done a reminisce blog post like this for such a long time. To be honest, I probably felt that 2016 and 2017, didn’t really offer much to tell. But 2018, is a different story. I went on three holidays, had lots of blogging opportunities and even started a new job. So its been pretty busy.

As the saying goes, time flies when you’re having fun.

Since me and my boyfriend got together a year ago, we’ve done lots together. One of our first big things we did was our first trip of the year to Budapest.

For a 3 day weekend we got lots done with two spa’s, an evening cruise and basking in the sun at a sky bar. You can read more of our Budapest trip here. If you haven’t been before, its definitely something for anyone. Its great for couples but even families and hen/stag do’s. We’d go back in a heartbeat.

Fast forward a couple of months and we decided to pack our bags for a week in the party island: Ibiza.

I’m not ashamed to say it was my fifth time visiting the island and it never disappoints. Going with your boyfriend to a nightlife holiday was such a good decision too. I’d only gone with friends before but it really isn’t all about partying. We explored other parts of the island we’d never been before whilst visiting beach clubs, cute restaurants. We loved it! Read my things to do in Ibiza.

Another new place I visited last year was Turkey. We did so much in a week with a boat trip, exploring caves, crab fishing and trying their delicacies. It’s not somewhere I’ve really considered going to before but it was lovely. It’s so picturesque and really affordable too. Plus I come back with an amazing tan! I’m looking forward to going back in the late summer this year.

Aside from holidays, I’ve also been fortunate enough to have some great blogging opportunities and working with brands such as Pixi Beauty. I’ve also had my fair share of blogging events and two I really enjoyed this year was visiting Durham‘s new cocktail bar (here) and a weekend away in the Lakes courtesy of Beech Hill hotel.

What else have I been up to?

A huge personal leap for me this year was starting a new job. I’d previously worked full time doing Communications for a local charity but I took the leap into Marketing for a company who sell machinery worldwide. Yep, not related at all! It’s going well and I’m proud of myself for jumping out of my comfort zone and trying something new.

It’s always great to move on and keep your life interesting!

To finish off a whirlwind of a year, we went to Edinburgh Hogmanay for New Years Eve. It’s mine and my boyfriends favourite UK city so we were so excited to go for the first time together. I’m going to do a separate blog post on that soon so keep a look out for it. I’ll be detailing where we want, what to do there and how much it’ll set you back.

So what’s coming up in 2019?

Well lots of holidays (hopefully). On Christmas Day my boyfriend surprised me with a trip to Venice. So our first holiday of the year will be the city on water in April. I cannot wait, its always been a place I’ve wanted to tick off my bucket list. We’re also hoping to go to Barcelona in the Summer and Turkey again. Aside from that, I’ve not made any resolutions I’m just going to sit back and see what happens.

What are you up to in 2019? Did you make any resolutions?

Definitely put it on your list, we went in May and it was perfect. Gorgeous weather and wasn’t too busy. Yes I agree, there’s lots to do there if you don’t like the party life xx
