As my last full day on holiday, I’m treating you all to an amazing Summer Skincare Guest post by Sophie at Books and Beauty! She’s listing some perfect products, don’t you think?
Pixi Glow Tonic – Everybody wants glowing skin in the summer, right!? More often than not, glowing skin starts with good skincare and one of the products I have found to give me that summer glow is the Pixi Glow Tonic. Eponymous in the blogging world, this exfoliating toner is suitable for everyday use and gives your skin a deep cleanse to unleash healthy, glowing skin.
Priced at £18 and available from the Pixi website.
Nobay Moisturising Peeling Exfoliator – If, like me, you love a good face scrub with exfoliating beads that feel like they’re doing something, then swap an exfoliating toner for a manual exfoliant. I am currently using this one from Naobay which is packed with beads to help the circulation in the skin, remove dead skin cells and brighten complexion.
Priced at £13.71 and available from the Glossybox website.
Dermalogica Clean Start ‘Welcome Matte SPF15’ Moisturiser – Now I’m pretty bad at remembering to apply a facial suncream during the summer months. Forgive me, but I live in South Yorkshire; we see the sunshine once a blue moon! Summer doesn’t exist in Yorkshire! However, on the days when I do think “I better apply a sun screen today” I always reach for this one. It has an SPF of 15 and dries matte; perfectly for oily skinned girls like myself.
Priced at £16.15 and available from the Dermalogica website (the name and packaging of this has changed but it’s still the same product).
Superdrug Naturally Radiant ‘Brightening Radiance Balm’ – I have been using this product for years and absolutely love it. This balm adds a healthy glow without giving you too much glow, if you know what I mean! It has added Kiwi and Mulberry extracts to help brighten the skin and even out skin tone. This can be applied straight to skin before your foundation or, as I like to use it, mixed in with your foundation to give a lovely glow!
Priced at £5.99 but currently on offer at £2.95 from Superdrug.
Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser with SPF 20: On warmer days I prefer a lighter base such as a BB Cream or tinted moisturiser, and the one I usually reach for is this one from Laura Mercier. It gives great coverage for a tinted moisturiser and last all day, plus the added SPF of 20 is perfect for those hotter days.
Priced at £34.00 and available from Space NK.
YSL Touche Éclat – Does this product really need an explanation? If you’re looking tired in the summer months, apply some of this wonder product over your under eye concealer for a brightened, awakened look. I use this all year round as I have constant dark circles, but in summer it looks wonderful. This can also be applied to areas of the face where the sun would naturally hit; down the nose, forehead, cupids bow and chin.
Priced at £25.00 and available from Boots.
The Body Shop ‘Virgin Mojito’ Body Sorbet – There’s nothing worse than getting out of the shower on a hot day and still feeling hot, sticky and quite agitated knowing you have to apply your body lotion or butter, thus making you hotter. Enter the Body Sorbet! This is a great product for hot days. It has cooling effects and stays at a cool temperature and feels amazing to apply after a shower. If you want it extra cool, keep it in the fridge!
Priced at £8.00 and available from The Body Shop.
