January Favourites

I don’t know about you but I’m glad this month is over, January always feels like the longest month ever after Christmas but a bonus is this month means lots of new Beauty purchases that of course have become my favourites.

Yes after scouting the December and January sales, I’ve loved trying out lots of new beauty items including perfume, lush products and an out of this world eyeshadow palette.

So first off, like it usually is most months, January seen me buy lots of Lush products. But most specifically.. their boxing day sales. I spent probably at least £80 on their Christmas collection and its fair to say I’m stocked up for a good few months now. Of course that includes Snow Fairy but I picked up Sleepy. This is a new product I’ve never tried before and this body lotion will make you feel relaxed and well..Sleepy! Thanks to the lavender scent and smooth texture, it’s kept my skin in tip-top condition and I’m just addicted to the smell. I’ve also loved their cinnamon scents such as this ‘Magic of Christmas‘ wand. A bubble bar like this will last you at least 5 baths so I’ve smelt magical in January and for months ahead…

Okay so its fair to say I’m tan obsessed so I do love trying different brands and applications to find my perfect one. I change my mind all the time but I can honestly say the last couple of month I’ve reached for Bondi Sands Dark Self Tan each time. You name it I wore it for over Christmas, New Year and even the end of this month (yes I attempted Dry January). I’m not usually a fan of coconut but this actually smells quite nice as a tan, its easy to apply and I let it develop over night and wash off in the morning. Even though its dark it just leaves a really nice natural tan that’s not ‘fake’ looking. It’s also one of the easiest to remove too, a good exfoliating scrub and its off! Amazing.

Again I recently mentioned on here how much I’ve loved using the Urban Decay Moondust palette (here) so I felt it was needed to include in my January favourites. Just like my tan I’ve used this palette everytime I’ve gone out since, its actually crazy how much use you can get out of these bright shades. They look intimidating but on your eyes, they can actually look subtle and really compliment the look your going for such as a smoky eye.

So a couple of new items I got for Christmas had to be mentioned in my favourites. I received the Dreamy Glow Highlighter by Charlotte Tilbury and it couldn’t be labelled better. It’s not as dramatic as other highlighters I use but this really does give a beautiful glow especially on your brow bone and top of your cheeks. I’d describe this as a pearl finish as it’s not golden nor too pale, I can see this suiting most if not all skin tones. It also came packaging with this gorgeous makeup bag too! In the sales I always like to pick out a couple of perfumes while their on offer. I grabbed a bargain with this Armani Diamonds Rose. I got a 50ml bottle and 10ml travel bottle in the boots sale and omg what a sweet scent it is. I got so many compliments when I wore this on Boxing day and NYE. The fragrance will last all night and it just smells so expensive, if that make sense.. I actually wish I got another set of this and put it away, its sooo much nicer than the original Diamonds bottle.

You guys know how excited I was when Mac Cosmetics released a collection with Mariah Carey and I just love her Eyeliner. You can read an in depth review of it here. But again this is up their with my favourite go-to eyeliners. I feel like all I’m talking about is what makeup I’ve worn over Christmas but its true, wearing these last month have just been all I’ve wore so they are worth the mention right? To finish off, this Urban Decay lipstick is what I wear when I don’t want to wear red but I want something wow. It’s metallic, its glittery and its a bright pink. ‘Big Bang‘ is sooo cute I actually wore this on my summer holiday but to pair with Moondust this lipstick has made a re-appearance in winter because why not?

A jam-packed post filled with makeup and what a way to round January off! I’m so excited to see what this month brings, I’m loving Lush’s Valentines collection so far and I also managed to pick up an item from Kylie Cosmetic’s Valentines collection too so watch this space..

What products would you try?
