Valentines Day Makeup

So this Friday it’s Valentines day, and i wanted to do a post about it but wasn’t sure what. I’ve added lots about fashion lately so i decided why not do a valentines day look? This could either be for the day or for a date. The look is pretty and simple with no over exaggerate eye makeup. The simple makeup can compliment any red dress or casual day look.

 I always use a primer before putting foundation or powder on my face, i think it always helps the makeup set and stay in place. This primer ‘pore fessional’ by benefit is amazing! The colour as you can see is skin colour that fits with most skin tones. I use a little blob and spread it evenly over my face, its so soft and makes my skin feel smooth and hides little blemishes i have on my face especially around the eyes.

helloThen, after priming the face, i use the Sleek Contour kit on my face. The contour kit gives definition to your body structure, and i think it makes your face look thinner and the highlighting powder which is used on the nose, eyes and chin gives definition to the face. As you can see below i have highlighted where i put the contour powder, some people use this powder as a bronze over foundation and sometimes i do too, it really helps show your cheek bones for a glamours flawless finish.

contourAfter Applying the contour, highlight and blush i then apply my foundation. I use Rimmel Lasting finish 24hr. liquid foundation in 303 (true nude). I add the foundation with a foundation brush for accuracy. I then add lipstick. To stick with the theme i opted for Elfs lipstick ‘gypsy’ then followed by the Raspberry Balmi to smooth the lips. I always use lip balm after putting a lipstick on for shine and i tend to find the lipstick stay on longer.

Now onto the eyes, first i needed to apply the eyeshadow. I got this 100pc eyeshadow set free from Elf so ive been looking forward to using it, so to keep with the theme i decided to use pinks, purples and nude colours. I started by using a nude sand colour in the inner corner of the eye then spreading it accross the eye. In the middles and along where the eyeliner would go i used a bright pink, then above the pink a dark purple. Then i added Collections felt tip eyeliner.

Now onto the mascara! As you know by now i love using ‘theyre real’ by Benefit so i will be using that mascara and also another one by Maybelline, Mega plush volum’ express. I use the benefit mascara first to separate the lashes then i use the maybelline mascara to thicken the lashes. I take these two again to give a thick set of lashes. After doing this, i also colour in my eyebrows with a eyebrow brush and pencil.

Now to finish the Valentines Day look, we need a hairstyle. I only have short hair extensions myself so i will be using my extensions to make my hair long and thick. My extensions are by Sarah hair extensions and they are size 20″ and shade 12/613. If you would like to know more, click here (*)

Now the end result:

After putting my extensions in i sectioned about a third of the hair up and gripped it at the side, doing this i backcombed the back for my hair and the sides to give volume. I then two a small piece of hair from either side and plaited it and added it to the gripped hair, an easy quick do that looks like you’ve made an effort.. but not too much.

Thanks for looking, i hope you enjoyed reading and like my simple Valentines day makeup. all products i used are featured here;

        Woah! I’m really enjoying the template/theme of this site.
        It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s difficult to get
        that “perfect balance” between user friendliness and visual appeal.
        I must say you have done a excellent job with this.
        In addition, the blog loads very quick for me on Chrome.
        Superb Blog!
