One of my favourite beauty products would definitely have to be a highlighter. I love their glowy and radiance appearance on the skin! Whether I use highlighter before or after foundation, my makeup doesn’t feel complete without it! My beauty stash has a whole section filled with powders, creams and liquids. So, I decided to pick my current faves’ if your after something new and not sure what formula to try!
These 3 palettes I’d describe as powder, however the middle one contains powder and cream. First up we have the Urban Decay Naked Illuminated in ‘Aura’. This is a golden peachy baked shimmer for the face and body. I would describe this as golden glitter pot, you only need the littlest drop of powder and this dazzles your whole face! The Sleek Precious Metals Highlighting palette contains 3 light to bronze creamy highlighters and an antique bronze powder. This little palette is great for on the go, the 3 creams cover the highlighting areas of the face and I just use my fingers to blend it in. For the powder, I use the little brush provided to add a little to the apple of my cheeks. And finally we have the Measurable Difference blusher! This pretty pink baked lush is so shimmery and light, I use it as a highlighter under my brows and under my eyes – a subtle glow. If you’re wanting a highlighter that’s not too ‘shiny’ or ‘glowy’ this is the one for you, it looks a lot more like a blush!
If I had to pick between powder or liquid as a highlighter for the rest of my life, I would probably go more for a liquid. I think it’s because its more multi-purpose. It can be a primer or a makeup setter too! I can’t talk about this product enough, the Benefit Watt’s Up was only in my april favourites post but seriously if your wanting a dreamy champagne highlighter – this is perfect for you! I guess you could say its more of a cream bronzer but it highlights so effortlessly that it has to be one! Seventeen skin WOW highlighter is literally in my day-to-day routine now. I use it as a primer first, then after foundation I apply extra for the lift and lighten to make a luminous glow! Yves Saint Laurent‘s Touche éclat is a highlighter for the face but with the coverage to also hide those pesky spots. With the easy brush application I apply this under the bags of my eyes, hiding little spots and smoothing a pinky glow to the forehead – this product is sooo long-lasting! To sum all this up, I’m finishing it off with the cheapest product of all at just £1 the Rimmel wake me up Instant Radiance in ‘peach glow’ is the perfect highlighter/ primer if you’re wanting the job doing quick and cheaply! This shimmer touch is great at setting your makeup in place and adding a gorgeous sun-kissed healthy shimmer!
Are any of these your fave?
