I’m feeling very excited as I got on holiday two weeks today! It feels like forever since I dipped my feet in a swimming pool and felt the warm air when you step off the plane! Now, holidays are meant to be relaxing and exciting but packaging can be so stressful! This year I’ve bought way too many stuff and I honestly don’t know how I’m going to fit it all in my case (this is just beauty I’m talking about). Anyways I’ve tried to narrow things down and here are my top Holiday Beauty Essentials!
So first up, I suppose the bare essentials to your hot destination is skincare! I’m lucky enough to tan quite easily, however the down-fall to this is I’m prone to burning quite quickly! What do I do? Well, first I always take a 50+SPF for my face and parts of my body that burn easily such as my shoulders! I recommend Eucerin 50+ Sun fluid for face. This little handy pot is great to pop in your luggage and is designed for sensitive skin! For body, after trying all kinds of sun cream, this year I’ll be taking Garnier Ambre Solaire Dry mist SPF 30. This liquid spray is so easy and quick to apply! I hate sun cream marks on your body but this doesn’t give you any! No need to wait for it to dry so you can jump into the pool almost instantly – bonus. And on night-time it’s a must to apply aftersun! This not only soothes sunburn, but keeps your skin moisturized and even develops your tan – personally I think it stops you peeling during and after holiday. Garnier Ambre Solaire Sensitive After Sun is my go-to aftersun as this dries so quickly so you can get ready and enjoy your cocktails and know your skin is getting the TLC it needs.
For hair care I’m not going to lie, I disown it a little while I’m away, mainly because I can’t take all my hair products with me! I’m so looking forward to taking my Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray with me! This little bottle is meant to give your hair that gorgeous beachy wild hair you deserve! This gives your hair a little omff!
For my base, I tend to go for a BB cream for through the day so my face still gets a tan but I still have a little makeup on. I’ve picked Guerlain Terracotta Joli Teint Foundation. This is a light coverage foundation with SPF 20 that gives you that little glow but kind of looks like your not wearing foundation! For a dewy highlighter you can’t go wrong with Benefit High Beam to add the shine you need for your nights-out! To set your makeup a powder is perfect as well as makeup fixing spray for the hot weather. Urban Decay Naked Skin Finishing Powder does exactly what it says! You need a little blusher on holiday right? Bourjois Paris Blush‘s are perfect for that golden rose tint that adds sparkle to your face. While your tanning too, it helps to have a shimmer-y bronzer to apply on your face and body. MAC Cosmetics Mineralize skinfinish is perfect to add that cheeky bronze. I’d use this for my night-time makeup.
It’s so hard to narrow down your lip collection for holiday, you kind of need to decide on what works best with all your outfits, and also what is long-lasting! I’ve narrowed mine to just two! I’ve opted for a lip stain that is more on the glossy side but sets and is durable like a lipstick. For a light pink, Yves Saint Laurent Lip Stain is stunning and lasts so long compared to most lipsticks. However on the budget side, Makeup Revolution Lip Lava also stains your lips and is a gorgeous coral shade! These both look great with a tan.
For eyes, It’s clear a waterproof mascara is necessarily for through the day. Yves Saint Laurent Singulier Waterproof adds always the volume you need, under water! Again, similar with lipsticks, you need to see what shadows work with your outfits so one palette or a couple of single shadows are better for weight and packing. Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Eye Palette has 10 shimmer shades with summer-y colours! It’s such a cute travel size palettes and the pigment is great! For eyeliner, I’ve decided on a mink brown liner to create a natural look on holiday with Lord & Berry Eye Pencil and Shadow.
