Another monthly faves already, I’ve used and bought so many new products this month so it was quite hard to only pick a few for my April favourites. Most of these products are new so lets see what I think of them so far…
I love the blue and purple tones in this post, honestly it was accidental! Anyways so as most of you know by now I finish university in May (I can’t quite believe I’m finished next week) and after the work load I’ve been under I’ve needed to treat myself, my way through it. I know its bad but seriously retail therapy helps! I managed to buy lots of new NYX products and Seventeen as well as my first Charlotte Tilbury haul (here).
Again I can’t write a monthly favourites post without including Lush can I?
Well after using a few more bits from their Easter collection I thought I’d do a round-up and say Ultra violet is still my favourite and possibly out of all of Lush! If you haven’t tried it yet then hopefully it comes out next year… The smell of palma voilets is so soothing and I love how it leaves a gorgeous scent in your hair and skin.
After winning a gift box from my local Lush, I’ve loved trying one of their lip balms. A product I’ve never tried before but the smell of passionfruit and how soothed my lips have felt needed appreciating on this post.
Natural World sent me their Coconut water* range to try out a couple of months ago and I’m so excited to tell you about my results!
So like all shampoos and conditioners I kind of go for favourite and memorable brands but if something sounds good and smells nice I’m up for trying anything. When they got in touch to try their whole Coconut Water collection I had to give it a go. Now coconut is not one of my favourite scents, I don’t mind it as I know it does amazing things to our body not just our hair but some products can be a bit overwhelming for me. This was a subtle and quite a fresh fragrance although you couldn’t really smell coconut in your hair afterwards.
The set comes with shampoo, conditioner and two travel size hair oils so plenty of product to keep your hair looking soft and shiny. Coconut extract provides hydration to the hair but for me I noticed it made my hair lighter, I dunno if this is to do with it giving shine but my roots were more of a light brown and my blonde highlighters were noticeably lighter.
I love the fact the range does this, the only thing I didn’t like was the brushing afterwards, it took forever to detangle my hair and I had to use the oil most uses to get my hair brushed. It was a bit of a task as too much oil can make your hair look greasy.
My suggestion if you were to try this range is to use one or the other, both hair care products will give amazing results when dry but the brushing and detangling was something I wasn’t happy doing.
I know I’ve mentioned NYX a couple of times on my blog now but I just had to share my new fave lip duo! I’ve been loving a nude lip lately especially with the purchase of ‘Velvet teddy’ last year and now with lip creams its my go-to shade. Lip cream in ‘Stockholm’ is the perfect blend of nude with pink tones and is very similar to Velvet teddy. If you have both I recommend pairing them together. If you fancy a lip liner to go with your shades I 100% recommend their retractable lip liner in ‘nude’. Both products are so pigmented and creamy and have the best staying powder for the price.
Two new Seventeen products to my collection is Skin Wow highlighter (left swatch) and concealer (right swatch). The highlighter is my second bottle now and I love the fact its a primer as well as a liquid highlighter . It’s a subtle sheen that looks perfect on its own or paired with your favourite powder. Their Seventeen concealer is also a new favourite of mine.. I know what your thinking it looks exactly like Touche Eclat, well keep a look out for a post featuring them both where I compare and see which ones better!
And finally yep that’s actual real gold in that gel, 24 carat to be exact! It’s so tiny it took forever to get a good swatch but the Guerlain L’Or Radiance (here) is a lightweight gel formula that acts as a primer to create a glowy complexion. The gold acts as a reflective and this magic gel is such a lovely formula if you fancy something lighter and new for your summer skincare.
There you have it, some of my monthly favourites and products I’ve enjoyed trying out. If you haven’t tried NYX lip creams or Seventeen’s skin wow range you need too. With university over with this month who knows what little makeup treats I’ll buy this month.
Have you tried any of these?
