Last weekend I had the pleasure of attending Durham’s new hidden gem: The Butterfly Room.

The new boutique cocktail bar not only has a beautiful mix of cocktails, the place is Instagram goals. Situated in the lively part of Durham, the Butterfly Room sits in between Fat Buddha, Revolution and a Champagne bar. So no doubt will end up on your pub crawl list during the day or evening.

We were welcomed with a menu of iconic cocktails such as pornstar and french martinis and we even got a private cocktail making class where we got a step by step guide to making our very own Zombie cocktail.

The venue itself is a medium-sized bar with plush booths and an iconic ‘social butterfly’ neon sign which you can see works great as an Instagram background. Just think of the group photos. So if you’re heading to Durham soon or fancy a night out in the city – definitely give the Butterfly Room a go. You can’t go wrong with a nice cocktail, room to dance and a place to sit to rest those party feet.
