Newcastle is one of the most well-known city’s in the North East for its party life, culture and food!
So when we got asked to have a weekend in a newly established Apartment at The Forge, we jumped at the chance!
The Forge Newcastle offers luxury apartments in the heart of the city. With the choice to rent one, two or three bedrooms, it really is somewhere you can call home. From walking into the building you are greeted with a 24-hour Concierge team.
The Forge Newcastle Facilities
The entrance and residents lounge is aesthetically pleasing on the eyes and includes unlimited hot drinks and a state-of-the-art Gym. They also offer a bookable meeting room for work or home life. Whilst we were there a few residents had booked it out to play Fifa together.
From the moment we stepped in we felt welcomed and nothing was too much trouble. The handy 24-hour concierge service means they are just a phone call away to help you.
The Forge team often organise resident activities too such as football matches and even recently the Game of Thrones finale. when renting an apartment here, each resident is given the option of downloading their app. This is full of in-house events, advice, and activities to do in the city. We thought this was a great idea to be kept involved!
Oh, and it doesn’t just stop there! The apartments itself have such an Instagrammable look in each room, hence the title!
Two Bedroomed Apartment
We stayed on the top floor in a two bedroomed apartment. This comes with two ensuites, a fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine. Everything you need to feel right at home. It’s an ideal sized apartment too.
The open plan kitchen and the living room felt warm and spacious. Plus both bedrooms and ensuites are quite large. The views from the Quayside on a morning were nice too, with just a short walk away from the pubs or the train station. I loved the fact the plugs next to the bed had built-in USB ports. If you love your tech!
Mantra Thai Takeaway
So once we put our things down we headed to the gym where Bob was in his element. The treadmills even had a touch screen where you could use Google or Skype. Very fancy! After our short workout, we headed up and the Forge team ordered us a takeaway from Mantra Thai.
Thai food is slowly becoming our go-to cuisine and it was amazing. It’s just down the road from the apartments so it’s easy to order and the Forge team can deliver it to your door. I opted for the Chicken with Cashew nuts and Bob got the Choo Chee Prawn Curry. The Ribs and Fish Cakes to start were yummy too. Definitely recommend it if you’re around the city!
The next day we headed into the city to explore! Our first stop was a coffee and sweet treat at Coffee Yolo. Situated in the Stack, this coffee shop is perfect for your sweet tooth. Bob got a Latte and I tried their Unicorn White Hot Chocolate. Yum! Next up was a stop of bowling and mini golf at Lane 7. I won the first game and Bob won the second!
For our evening meal, we were invited to Revolucion De Cuba to try their new Tapas menu. The Latin-inspired restaurant is filled with luxury interior with cute outside eating area and terrace! I’ll mention more about this in a separate blog post..
Before we knew it, our weekend in Newcastle was coming to an end! As a recently engaged couple, our next sights is buying a place together. We both only live an hour away from Newcastle so this certainly opened our eyes to the apartment and city living life.
The Forge Newcastle has everything you’d possibly want living in the city centre. I could even take my two cats with me with their pet-friendly rentals! Whether you’re looking for your first place or living up here for University – make sure you check them out!
