Games night with giffgaff

games night with giffgaff

Can you remember the last time you played a board game? Me neither! Well the team at giffgaff gave us the perfect ingredients to host a games night.

With today’s growing technology, we’re all guilty of catching up more online than we are in person. So giffgaff set me a challenge. To bring loved ones together and to host a board games night to reconnect.

Sounds easy right? Well believe it or not it was quite difficult to organise. So many of us have plans on weekends, because we work all week. Or friends live away or this, or that. You’re probably reading this now thinking hm, I can relate to this.

What is giffgaff?

For those of you who don’t know about giffgaff, they are a mobile network who offer a great range of sim only deals. This means you can change your plan whenever you like which is ideal when some months are tight or you need more data.

I received an array of goodies to host a successful night including three board games from Big Potato Games and a gift card from Justeat. Even my cat Darcy wanted to get involved! Takeaway must be included with games right? Giffgaff also sent me some pre-loaded sims that I could give to friends. As the saying goes, I’m only a phone call away’. It’s nice to spread the free love! Read on to find out how you can win two!

Games night in

So on Saturday, I invited some of my family around and it was great to catch up. Board games remind me of New Year’s Eve such as spending hours on Monopoly. These three games were totally different. Very 21st century too, especially the ‘Wierd things humans search for‘. The concept is to guess what people are searching for. Think of it like a Google search and the suggested answers come up. Some of the answers were very weird and it certainly brings out lots of laughter after a glass or two.

Giffgaff also provided us with a trophy of the overall winner of the night. Which adds to the competitiveness of my family! With giffgaff, they offer a great range of monthly plans from as little as £6 a month. Which gives you 500MB data, 300 minutes and 500 texts. Not bad at all! That’s ideal for the young’ens.

After a couple of games, it starts to become hungry-work! So we ordered way too much food from Justeat. We decided to order our local delicacy. Parmo! Its basically breaded chicken with bechamel sauce and LOTS of cheese. Believe me, it tastes amazing. Tango IceBlast’s are always a good choice too.

Before we knew it, we’d spent 5 hours on board games. The evening was full of laughter and it was nice to make an effort with family without any digital disturbances. Apart from Alexa playing in the background! Bob won most of the games so crowned him the winner!

Huge thank you to giffgaff for giving me the opportunity to catch up with loved ones over fun, games and plenty of food! Its certainly made me think we should do this night more often!

  1. It’s fun to reconnect with family and friends in an “old school” style board game. I can’t remember the last time I played one. I’ll definitely be ordering some for my birthday next month. And those deals on GiffGaff are incredible! My contract is coming to an end soon, so I know who I’ll be moving over to.

I’m absolutely loving these games and the idea of having a little trophy as well. We’ve been doing games night with a couple of friends on and off but I think we really need to make it at least a monthly thing. As you say, it’s actually nice not to have the digital distractions.
