House Of Fraser Blogger Event

House of fraser blogger event

House of fraser blogger event House of fraser blogger eventOn Wednesday I was invited to my local House of Fraser store in Middlesbrough for a Blogger Event! This was to celebrate the stores brand event with all brands up to 40% off (this lasts till 31st May). Us local bloggers met up for a night filled with free makeovers, tips and tricks and goodie bags! On arrival FABBevents treated us to refreshments; cake and chocolate – how amazing?! It was rude not to try one or two…

IMG_9831Tor, the lovely gal behind FABBevents talked us through the night and let us pick beauty appointments from brands such as YSL,Clarins, Clinique and Benefit. These featured talks from their latest summer products to tips and tricks such as the perfect brow, contour and foundation matches! I was particularly looking forward to the Clarins summer range and the YSL Contour class!

House of fraser blogger event IMG_9817Stephanie from the Clarins counter give me and my friend a little makeover with their new summer Aquatic Treasures collection. She showed us how to soften the lips before application by using an exfoliating scrub. You can see above that my lips look slightly white! This gets rid of any roughness and leaves your lips soft ready for any lip product. She then demonstrated their new Multi-Blush lightweight cream that transforms into powder upon application – it’s amazing as it sounds. And to finish off the look she applied their new Summer Bronzing Compact for a subtle contour to the cheeks (as pictured below).

IMG_9829IMG_9823I’ve never had my makeup done by anyone before so this was a real treat to have a contour class and my makeup done by my favourite brand Yves Saint Laurent. Elizabeth demonstrated on a couple of us the easy way of contouring. I’ve seen so many tutorials and never found one that works for me but she made it look so effortless on me and a few other bloggers.

IMG_9827She used the Touche Eclat illumination foundation in B 60 Beige as my base with a little serum. For highlighting she used the Touche Eclat shade 1 on the nose, forehead and upper cheeks. Then their new Les Sahariennes cream bronzer in 6 Sienne for the cheek bone, forehead and chin. To blend it in, she used a powder brush and gently settled it in all over my face – it looked great. I never thought of contouring this way.

IMG_9830 I loved the look of the foundation that much I actually bought it! It’s a matte foundation that feels light and dewy but with powder and all your other products leaves a gorgeous matte finish, I just couldn’t resist picking it up!

House of fraser blogger eventDior launched their new mascara and eyeliner Wednesday too. Cheryl talked us through the new formula to the DiorShow mascara that means it never dries up! It’s such a pain when your favourite mascara dries up but with this one, their new formula allows it to always feel wet so there’s no chance of it clogging and drying. After looking at how great their new Pro liner was and the fact it was waterproof sold it for me! Cannot wait to try it.

IMG_9834And finally we headed over to the stunning Benefit counter where Luce showed us their brow products. My friend Sophie opted for the gimme brow for that quick fix to your brows. I do prefer gimme brow to any other brow product so it was nice listening to the little tips and just having a general chit-chat from one blogger to another!

house of fraser blogger eventTo round the night off nicely, the girls gave us all a luxury goodie bag filled with all these products above! Generous samples of foundation, mascara, skincare and perfume. I was even lucky enough to win their £300 Beauty hamper!! I’ll be doing a separate post on this. I never win anything so I was in total shock when my name got read out.

What a great night meeting with all the bloggers and well done FABBevents for being lovely hosts! Don’t forget there’s 10% off all beauty till 31st ladies!
