Whilst the brisk cold air sinks in and the dark nights and dark early mornings become a part of our routine again, we feel a little nostalgic of the summer air and especially how our skin looked and felt in summer.
For most people, the most common problems our skin faces in Autumn and Winter is dry skin mainly either on our face or dry cracked lips. We’re more likely to colds and flu in Winter too so we look more run down and well just a little dull really. So add a little glow to your morning make-up routine with these products! I’ve rounded up a couple of products I think will still leave you with Summer looking skin in A/W!
For lips I’d recommend looking for a formula with shea butter, this keeps your lips hydrated and soft so make sure your AW lips also have lip balm in it. I always reach for either Vaseline or The Body Shops Cocoa Butter Lip Balm. Moisturize while you glamorize.
Hands bear a lot more in the colder weather, they also become dry a lot faster than the rest of our body. Make sure you keep them moisturised especially if your constantly washing your hands. You can’t go wrong with a festive hand cream! Ps. Don’t forget to wear your cute gloves.
The same moisturiser you use during the summer doesn’t offer the protection you need for the winter chill and winds. Again, look for a moisturiser whether face or body with softening ingredients like Shea Butter. For the face look for something with a thick creamier base. A new brand I’ve been loving lately is Guinot. They sent me their Hydra Finish Face Cream a while back and its become a part of my morning skincare routine, either a primer or a substitute for foundation.. its perfect. I had never heard of the brand before but they have a selection of salons around the UK as well as offering beauty treatments and their own selection of luxury products. I definitely need to try more out of their range.
Whether you wear self tan or not, we still like to have a glow to our skin in the cooler months. Personally I wear a range of self tan brands so I always look tanned – I just hate being white but that’s my own preference. A flawless addition to my getting ready routine is Guinot‘s Huile Mirific Gold Dry Oil. Add a couple of drops of this onto your skin for an instant subtle glow. I’ve been applying this to my legs for nights out and it feels so nice. Even better you can use this for your hair too – I know gold oil for you hair… Wow! Healthy silky hair even in winter.
Do you have any winter rituals you put into play for your own skin-care routines at this time of year? If so, I’d love to hear them.
