Urban Decay Alice Through The Looking Glass Palette

Urban Decay Alice Through The Looking Glass Palette

As Alice through the looking glass is officially screening in cinemas, I thought it was the perfect time to review Urban Decay‘s eyeshadow palette. This limited edition eyeshadow palette just had to be part of my UD collection.

Whether you’re a fan of the film or not, this palette is absolutely stunning. Urban decay have really pulled it out the hat here (See what I did there)! And when this was first shown as a teaser on their social media, I just knew I had to have it. I dunno about you but when somethings limited edition, it just feels that little bit more luxurious and well that you kind of NEED it really.

Well, as you all know I love Urban Decays products and especially their eyeshadow. So when this finally arrived on my doorstep I was immediately in love. I opened the box and honestly you’d of thought it was Christmas the way I was going on. I’ve never seen a beauty product be so beautiful in their packaging and the shades.

I mean just look at the 3D butterfly?! With the psychedelic kaleidoscope artwork, it really does give the illusion of Alice in Wonderland. The box is sturdy for cardboard and fits a medium-sized mirror with a ‘Were all mad‘ engraved logo. I probably wouldn’t use the mirror but it was still a nice touch to have it like the mirror in the Disney film. The double flapped door features words from the film but once open, it reveals the pretty butterfly.

With butterflies, clocks, flowers and quotes from the film,  this really does spell Disney to me. Urban Decay are a brand that pays attention to every detail and of course all the shades relate to the film such as ‘Alice’, ‘Hatter’ and ‘Reflection’.

It’s no surprise it sold out so quick.

For £45 your getting 20 BRAND NEW shades which I thinks good considering. This eyeshadow palette has been described as Urban Decay’s most iconic palette that features softer shades for Alice but then eccentric and bright shades for Mad Hatter.

They’ve even gone that bit extra by arranging the shades in columns by characters. As you look down you can see the first row down is definitely Alice and the next one Mad Hatter. This is then followed by Mirana (white queen), Iracebeth (red queen) and Time (part-human part-clock). I just love the variety of shimmer shades, a couple that are a bit daring but also ones I can see myself wearing day-to-day.

As always UD eyeshadows are beautifully pigmented with rich colour and staying power. The double ended brush also has the  psychedelic pattern on its own which is cute!

So I’ve taken a swatch of all the shades below, these are all with just one swipe. The good thing about this limited edition palette is they are all brand new and exclusively for this palette.. even more tempted eh?!

Just looking at the palette, the shades seemed a little daring and bright in the box but after swatching them all, I don’t think there would be a shade I wouldn’t use. I especially love the look of Royal flush as an inner corner shimmer. Dream on, Cake and salazen grum are my favourite just from the swatches.

I’m looking forward to getting my wear out of this palette through summer to match my outfits and I’m so glad I managed to pick this collectors item up. I just need some of their lipsticks now but haven’t had any luck in getting one yet. Any recomendations on which shade I need to get?

Did you manage to get Urban Decay’s Alice through the looking glass palette?
