August Favourites

After a holiday and starting my new job, August was a good month for me! My favourites this month are newish products I’ve picked up. August FavouritesAugust Favourites

It just didn’t hit me that we were in September already, so sorry about my monthly favourites been a little later than usual. I’ve been trying to balance my new job as well as blogging and I’m starting to feel I can fit them both in perfectly. I’m going to try aim to do at least one post a week. This week I’m treating you to two!

So a holiday always includes duty-free! I’ve been after a new perfume for a while and I just had to pick up Moschino’s Fresh Couture. I mean it’s the quirkiest fragrance bottle ever?! Yeah it’s not a household product, it’s actually a really nice smelling perfume. It’s so dainty and cute, and it’s smells exactly as it says. It’s so fresh and floral and its perfect to top up throughout the day. Its small enough to fit in most clutch bags and I’ve nothing but compliments when I wear this of how lovely it smells. I just wish I’d picked up a bigger bottle now.

Another new product is L’Oreal’s Pure Clay Glow Mask. I was excited to try one of their masks and I decided the Glow Mask seemed the best for my skin, it aims to brighten and exfoliate to keep it pure and clean. I’ve only used this three times and already I can see an improvement on my complexion. My skincare routine has been a little non-existent lately but this mask has helped my skin look fresh on a morning! I feel like I need to try another out of their Pure Clay collection, which one shall I try?

I’ve tried Lava Lamp from Lush about three times now and I love it! If you love the smell of oranges – you need to try this! Everyone says it smells of fruit pastilles and I can kinda see why, I just love how the purple looks like orbs, just like a lava lamp. It leaves your skin feeling so soft and lovely with the cocoa butter. If you need to unwind, lava lamp is the one, its one of the prettiest bath bombs to watch.

I’ve tried setting spray for about two years now and by gosh I’ve seen the difference it has on my makeup staying put. So after trying low-budget versions, I thought it was time I picked up Urban Decay’s All Nighter setting spray. So you apply this spray after your making to ‘set’ it. I tend to spray when my base is done and then after my eyeshadow so its fullproof. I wore this EVERY night on holiday and I can hands down say after being in the nightclubs and in all the heat, my makeup still looked great when I got back to the apartment. I’m definitely gonna pick up the full version of this when it runs out.

My second Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick in Lost Cherry. It’s such a pretty pastel red that works day or night. I love her creamy matte formula and it’s quite long-lasting too. I wore this to the races the other week and I only had to reapply it once. I think it’s the kind of red shade that suits any skintone and with the fuchsia tones, it’s definitely more a summer shade for me.

Finally another Urban Decay product I’ve been loving is the Heavy Metals glitter eyeliner in Amp. This has beautiful speckles of blue, green and silver. I wore this for Ocean Beach to match my outfit and it’s just the subtle shimmer you need to your eye look. You can use it as liner but I prefer dabbing a bit over my inner eye and blending it. Everyone says it looks like high pigmented eyeshadow than liner! If you want your eyes to pop you need to try this and the shade Midnight Cowboy for a gold shimmer.

So summer is starting to end, but I am looking forward to Autumn and seeing a lot more products being released for the C word. Alright I’ll say it, I’m looking forward to all the beauty ready for Christmas. I love this time of year when the weathers still nice but lots of new TV shows start and we can start to wear our dark lips and smoky eye looks.

Have you tried any of these?
