Urban Decay | All Nighter Foundation

I caved and bought the brand new Urban Decay foundation and well this All Nighter is definitely worth talking about… urban decay all nighter foundation

It’s been a while since I reviewed a foundation on here. Mainly because their original foundation Naked Skin has just been my saviour and I’ve never really wanted to try a different one.

I normally prefer a medium dewy foundation and Urban Decay’s Naked Skin was just perfect for me! I was on about my third bottle this year when the All Nighter got released and I wondered how it would match up. This foundation claims to be waterproof and longwear and I just though hmm really?

Well when I went to the Urban Decay event early this month I was running low and decided to take the plunge and try the new one. The first thing that stood out to me was this whole oxidation process. Apparently this foundation goes a little darker ones oxygen has hit it. In basic terms from first swatch to say 10 minutes later you can expect the shade to change a little.

With that in mind I decided to get the shade I am already was which is shade 5 hoping it would be okay. from the first swatch it looked sooo much paler than Naked Skin. It literally looked more like shade 4 and I honestly thought I’d made the wrong decision. Well, once you’ve smoothed it in it works out fine – I’d recommend getting foundation matched.

So the first thing to mention about this foundation is its more matte than dewy.

I mean I’ve never been a matte kinda gal (a part from lipsticks) but I actually like the finish on this. It’s not powdery or velvety it just provides a nice even layer that feels so weightless! You can immediately see how this is more smooth and it sets so much nicer than other foundations.

I tried a bit on my hand and ran it under water and the droplets just fell straight off – yepp 100% waterproof. I even put my head under the water and it didn’t budge! It even keeps your powder quite waterproof as well. Like seriously my makeup is perfect when I get home after a night out and I’m not even exaggerating…

All Nighter is by far the best foundation I’ve tried in terms of durability, just like their iconic setting spray!

If you prefer matte foundations then you’ll love this. In terms of coverage I’d say this is a very high medium or even thick coverage. I definitely think I bought this foundation for the best time of year to hide the bags under my eyes and to keep my skin all settled. I don’t think I can see myself wearing this in the warmer months only because I feel I need less on and dewy coverage suits me better in heat. If your more oily, then this will work for you all year round.

The packaging on this is sooo sleek too with the gunmetal barrel and cracked glass! A great idea is the suction pump as well, so when you reach the bottom of the foundation you actually have used it ALL. I hate when there’s lots left over and you can’t get to it… Your actually getting 30ml worth here.

I’m really glad I picked up the Urban Decay All Nighter foundation and went out of my comfort zone! This foundation is my go-to for nights out for the long-lasting finish…

Have you tried this? Would you?

I really didn’t like this foundation sadly. I found it to be sooooo drying! I wear shade 1 which looks almost white as that’s what i was matched too but the oxidisation process just throws me off so much! xxx

Aww no that’s a shame! I don’t find it drying, I do wish I’d got a darker shade though definitely going to get foundation matched next time! xxx

Wow this foundation sounds amazing. It’s actually been on my wishlist for a while, but I’ve heard so many mixed reviews which is why I still haven’t picked it up. Great review 🙂

An all night foundation designed by a company with “decay” in it’s name?
    I like their moxie!

I just brought this whilst in the US and I’m in love. We were hitting the theme parks in the Florida sunshine for 8-12 hours a day and my skin still looked flawless at the end of it. Couldn’t recommend it enough!!
