I love trying out new brands, especially when they’re British & contain beauty products!
Let’s chat Proto-col.
You may not be familiar with this brand, I wasn’t until the lovely team got in touch and asked if I’d like to try their hero products. I love trying out new products and see how they match up to other well-known brands. So Proto-col is a natural health and nutrition company that has now become of the fastest growing beauty brands worldwide. Their mission is for luxury natural cosmetics at an affordable price – sounds great already! I’ve been testing out these products for the last few weeks, even on holiday and the results have been amazing.
The Moisturising Facial Gel is a feather-light formula that absorbs instantly into the skin for hydration and radiance. You can use this day or night and I’ve personally opted to apply this just before bed to let it soak in and make my skin supple for when I wake up. The facial gel even includes coral seaweed as an unusual ingredient which helps to improve tired or ageing skin. I didn’t take this on my holiday to Ibiza but since I’ve come home I feel like it’s helped my skin for peeling and from drying out.
The main star of the show which deserves its own flatlay picture is the newly released Intense Protection Moisturiser. I was lucky enough to receive this before it got launched and it’s currently on offer with 15% off. With the built-in SPF 50+ I just had to take this away with me. My face especially around my cheek bones and nose can easily burn and its safe to say this didn’t happen when I used this in 30+ degree heat. It pretty much replaced my sun cream while knowing it was benefiting my skin even more so too. It also includes Aloe Vera so even if you do burn, this ingredient will help cool and soothe the redness.
I do love my skincare but I have to say I’m hugely impressed with their mineral cosmetics range especially the Miracle Base Primer This little pot of joy adds the perfect base for makeup. I used it every night while I was in Ibiza and have continued to use it even at work. The silky formula just glides on your face and soaks in really quickly. I just love how soft it makes my skin feel and reminds me so much of the SmashBox Photo-ready primer. The best part is its super affordable and even contains luxury ingredients like Aloe Vera and Vitamin E.
With all this hot weather we’re having in the UK I’ve been skipping the medium coverage foundation when I can and opting more for BB creams and powders. I’ve started using the Baked Mineral Foundation as an alternative and I’ve loved the results. I suppose it does help that I’ve got a tan and my freckles are out on my face but even so the coverage is just enough to hide an imperfections and my dark circles. If you have sensitive skin this would be heaven! It even contains light refracting Mica to help minimise the appearance of fine lines and pores.
The team also sent me a handful of their LED lip glosses to try and, I’m not gonna lie I’m not usually a fan of lipgloss. I just find they don’t last as long as lipsticks and hate how sticky they feel. But, I was actually surprised with the application of these. Of course its a bonus having a light to apply at night-time but the formula feels lightweight and does dry slightly. When I read up on these they all even contain crushed pearl for added shine – how pretty? Above is the ‘Abigail’s Sparkle’ and its a perfect bright fuchsia for summer.
So what do the products look like on? Well below I’m wearing the primer, baked foundation and the lipgloss.
I absolutely love the result! I’m definitely embracing the no-makeup, makeup look! Have you tried Proto-col before or have I tempted you to learn more? Do let me know in the comments.
