Ghetto Golf Newcastle swings into toon and we couldn’t wait to try it!
An 18 hole crazy golf with alcohol and burgers sounds like a fun date night right? Well at the weekend we visited Ghetto Golf in Newcastle and its everything you’d expect and more! Situated in Hoults Yard, just 10 minutes from central Newcastle you’ll find a warehouse filled with an adults only golf course.
As soon as you walk inside you’ll see the place is covered in fairy lights, graffiti and lots of neon. It has a grunge feel which spells Ghetto if you ask me! The 18 hole course is only £10 which is a bargain as it takes roughly an hour to complete.
Me and Bob got two drinks whilst we were there and they do a great range of cocktails, cider and beer! So you can definitely blame the alcohol on how many times it takes you to get the ball in! So what is the golf course like you say? Well…
The 18 hole golf course
So every hole has a different theme. I mean literally as you move along it gets wackier and wackier. The first hole is an abandoned van and bumper car. But once you get to hole 5 you’ll find the sex shop. Just think of the red light district and you can imagine how it looks..
Then as you move along you’ve got the filthiest of toilets, a pub, a full size arcade game and my personal favourites; the toy grabber and ‘Jesmond’ Kyle. You can imagine as you go along the laughs and giggles never stop!
Don’t be afraid of taking selfies too! Other couples and groups took photos throughout which are great to look back on the next day if you do happen to get a little drunk. With Newcastle having a great nightlife this is somewhere perfect for pre-drinks and to start the night on the right track!
Or like us if you fancy doing something a little different to wining and dining!
Food at Apocalypse Cow
Once we finished the course we had a bite to eat at the Apocalypse Cow. Swinging balls can be hungry work so why not treat yourself to some loaded fries and a burger? I got the Mother Clucker filled with fried chicken and bacon whilst Bob kept it simple with a Cheese and bacon burger. Yum! This street food hut also offer a range of Tapas if you fancy going all out too.
So overall we had an amazing time! This was by far the best crazy golf we’d ever been too – and we’ve been to a few. If you’re looking for a fun date night in Newcastle – give it a go!
