MAC – YSL – Benefit Haul

IMG_3596I’ve really been admiring Debenhams lately for their beauty offers since i got one of their beauty club cards in February. The emails are too tempting and last week i caved in and bought a selection of beauty products that I’ve used before and are totally new to. If you’ve been following me on Twitter you will find that ive had the Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat, Benefit gimme brow and the Yves Saint Laurent rouge pur couture glossy stain a little longer than the others purchased. I knew i would end up buying more so i thought i would include them all in a HUGE haul/ review post.

To begin with products you could say i will always re-buy are the Benefit POREfessional and They’re Real Mascara. Benefit’s makeup is truly amazing. If their packaging doesn’t tempt you enough the actual quality of their products sure will. This will now be my third Benefit They’re Real mascara ive bought, the other two were just the mini versions i had from gift sets.

These two products were also bought in a gift set, From Lee Lee With Love Gift Set. This set includes two full size porefessional, they’re real and Lee Lee travel size perfume with a beautiful tin box. These two products especially are ones that once you use them, you will continue to use them. As with the mascara, ive had about 5 of the porefessional pro balm. This really is heaven in a tube, it minimizes the appearance of pores but for me personally, it helps my skin adjust to powder and foundation. Makes my skin very soft and can even minimize the look of blemishes and spots.

I feel like i don’t need to express my love for They’re Real mascara as ive featured the mascara in so many posts, if you’d like a full review click here. And if you’d like to see the set, click here!

*blushes* I have never tried MAC till now. I know and i call myself a beauty blogger? I honestly now, cannot think of a reason to why. Maybe the fact that every time i see the counters there always full of customers its put me off. I’m a very shy person and i would just be clueless of what to look at.

I’ve seen so many positive reviews of in particular their lipsticks so when Debenhams emailed me that if you bought two products, you got 10% off i used this opportunity to invest in a new brand ive never tired before. The MAC zoom fast black lash had tones of 5* reviews so i thought i would give it a try, and for £14 i thought it was pretty good for a mascara. My first impressions was that the brush seemed very similar to the Yves saint Laurent Shocking mascara. This is an extremely good thing as its one of my favorites for separating lashes and making them look full and thick with volume. As predicted the mascara did just that. Click here.

My love for Yves Saint Laurent grows once again with the new wild edition Touche Eclat collector in shade 1 (£25). I was a little skeptical at first to exactly what it does, so i looked on Youtube for ideas on how people use it. I was astonished by how much you can use it for. The main aim is to highlight key areas of the face such as underneath the eyes, cupid bow and underneath the brows. But ive also used this gold wand on highlighting my cheek bones and forehead for when i contour my face. Another bonus is it hides spots and blemishes – it works as a concealer too! This gold pen has so many uses its a great product to use on the go. Click here.

So to introduce my MAC make-up i thought to try the basics first, so what better way than one of their foundations? I had a hard time picking which one i wanted but the best one seemed to be the Studio Fix Fluid with SPF 15 in shade NC40 (£21). and because i’m new to MAC and i done it online, i knew i needed to get the shade right. I used my common sense and done the foundation finder. This helped me pick the perfect shade for my skin. I can be quite fussy with shades, but i opted for a slightly darker shade than my complexion for when i wear fake tan. I wasn’t wrong, i tried it straight away on my hand then face and it blends in perfectly. The medium coverage works great for me, you can see my freckles but still hides blemishes and occasional spots. I think this foundation will be perfect for holiday with the SPF 15. click here.

I’ve been wanting this product for a while! Gimme Brow (£17.50) really does give you the brows you’ve always wanted. The micro fibre brush adheres to the skin and hairs to give a natural thick look of real brows. They really shape them and add a little hint of colour. I opted for the medium light shade which didnt give me much colour so i will probably end up buying the medium dark shade too to compare. Overall another excellent product from Benefit and its part of my daily makeup routine. It only takes seconds to apply. Click here.

Another Yves Saint Laurent product i love. The Rouge Pur Couture glossy stain in shade 30 (£14.50) Mauve Fusain. This purple lip gloss stain is such a pretty colour. The glossy stain collection is great if your wanted a lip  gloss finish but with a thick and solid lipstick colour. I have this product in 105 corail hold up. Once applied it lasts so much longer than most lip glosses, it really does stain your lips and doesnt smudge. I wouldn’t say it lasts hours but considering it is classed as a lipgloss it is exceptional. Its long lasting shine compliments any outfit with a hint of purple or lilac. Unfortunately they don’t sell this shade anymore, it was in the sale so it was probably discontiued stock. There is plenty of similar shades to chose from. Click here.

I hope you enjoyed reading the reviews of my new products. Can you recommend any MAC products i should try next?
