Beauty brands to discover in 2017!

We’re half way through the first month of 2017 and I’m already thinking of all the new products and beauty brands I’ll be discovering this year…

Being a blogger, your always on the look out to trying new brands and new releases. Before blogging I literally just stuck to the drugstore brands such as Rimmel, Maybelline and Collection.

Throughout three years of blogging I’ve loved trying new bands whether through PR samples or just treating myself. I guess you could say I’m more of a high-end kinda girl now. My main makeup pieces such as foundation and mascara are always luxury brands because I just think its worth paying that little extra for durability, long-lasting and WOW results really.

I mean this time last year I’d never even tried Charlotte Tilbury (I know shock) and now I love it, especially their mascaras and lipsticks. So today’s post is a bit of a self confession of the brands I’m yet to try and what products I’m hoping to try this year. You’ll probably be shocked some of the brands I’ve never tried because lets face it a lot of these are cult favourites with bloggers.

So lets see what I’m lusting over and hoping to try this year… If you have any suggestions in particular I’d love to know in the comments!

Anastasia Beverly Hills is such a well-known brand in the blogging world. From their contour kits, to dipbrow and their highlighters. I honestly don’t really know why I’ve never tried this brand yet as it does seem to cover everything and I see nothing but good reviews from them. I suppose the main reason is I’ve found drugstore versions of their products. I can find cream contour kits for literally a quarter of their price as well as their dipbrow. OF course these could be a LOT better than drugstore but you know when your just like is it worth it? I must admit their highlighters look a dream so that’s probably were I’d start of…

Colourpop has such a gorgeous collection of shades especially in their eyeshadows and lipsticks. The first instant thing that put me off was delivery charges to the UK but I’ve heard there’s ways around this now. Again, these products are always in blog posts and their lipsticks seem amazing – especially when people compare them to Kylie Cosmetics. Their single eyeshadows look lustworthy too.

Kat Von D is a fairly new makeup brand that was very anticipated in the blogging world. I mean there’s nothing to dislike, she’s got matte lipsticks, a dreamy eyeliner, palettes and lots more. I realllyyy want to try this brand but not sure where to start. Is the contour palette worth it? I’ve heard the eyeliner is really good so maybe give that a go when mines dried up.

Tarte I have no idea why I’ve never bought from here yet. I love their packaging and their palettes look amazing. I’ve also heard their mascara is meant to be really good to. I had a look at picking something up from here in the sale but nothing I wanted was discounted. It’s going to have to be a haul from here I think so if you have any suggestions of what to get first, let me know!

Laura Geller has a stunning collection of baked powders. Mainly the reason why I want to try this brand is their blushes and highlighters. They look amazing with the gelato effect and I’ve always swatched them in Space NK and thought wow. I did actually go to buy a highlighter before but the shade I wanted was out of stock… Typical.

So that’s 5 beauty brands I’ve never tried but hoping to this year. A lot of these brands are online so that could be why I’ve never bought them, I do prefer to see the products in person before I buy! Of course there’s still lots I haven’t tried but these are the main ones I thought of…

Any suggestions?

  1. I’ve been beauty blogging on and off since 2009 and I admit I’ve never tried Anastasia Beverly Hills, Kat Von D or Laura Geller! I’ve looked at ABH lippies forever but couldn’t justify the price so when I discovered Colourpop I became obsessed with them! As for Laura Geller, I don’t wear blush or highlight so it never appealed to me.

There are a ton of new brands coming out all the time and I feel like I can’t keep up anymore!
