Benefit Advent Calendar – Week 1

So my first week of opening the Candy Coated Countdown (£60) has seen a mixture of emotions this week. A couple of days I was really chuffed with what appeared behind the door and some, I was a little let down.

Day 1: ‘Keep it together’ I received 4 pink and magenta paper clips. I did a post on this as I was really looking forward to what I’d find on the first day. Needless to say I was let down, I don’t think I will use these but they are certainly the most expensive paperclips I own.

Day 2: ‘Peace, Love and Glossiness’ This was obviously a lot better than day one, I’ve tried this gloss before and it’s really pretty on. I think it’s cute to keep in your bag to add a little shine to the lips.

Day 3: ‘Flash some Lash’ Now who doesn’t love this mascara? I have tones of these little samples so I was happy to see this behind the door. By this point I starting thinking it’s definitely getting better as the days go on!

Day 4: ‘360-degree eye primer’ I was so excited to try this concealer. Since opening I’ve used it everyday. It’s great, I’ll probably buy the full size once this is used up.

Day 5: ‘Watch your eyes light up’ This is another product I am yet to use. I haven’t used any of the benefit skin care range so I’m excited to try all of them through the calendar. It’s the tinest pot I’ve ever seen so cute!

Day 6: ‘Your secret to PORE-fect skin’ again, this is another product I love from Benefit. For a small tube it lasts quite a while too so I was happy to this is the calendar.

Day 7: ‘Puttin’ on the glitz’ This silver hair tie is tiny! It hardly has any elastic in it so I don’t think I would even attempt to get all my hair wrapped in that. After a few days of seeing beauty products I knew a ‘random’ item would appear soon.. But not two in a row.

Day 8: ‘Stick with me, Gorgeous’ For a miscellaneous item these I will probably use. I do tend to use sticky notes for university when I’m referencing books so I’ll definitely try find some use for these – unlike the other non beauty items.

So that’s week 1 of the Candy Coated Countdown. What are your thoughts? Do you have this calendar?

The eye cream is amazing, I have the full size and it’s great for under eye bags.

I haven’t been keeping up with benefit as of late. I’d be hoping for more deluxe size samples and maybe even different types of advent.

I was so gutted to not get my hands on one of these but i definitely think paper clips and sticky notes its not good enough for such an expensive calendar! xxx

It really isn’t when its meant to be a beauty calendar. all the other calendars people are reviewing are ALL beauty products. I’m definitely not going to bother getting it next year xxx
