Arguably one of the most hyped highlighters is now in my possession. And is definitely one of my favourite products of 2016 so far. The Mary-Lou Manizer by The Balm. Enough said.
The packaging is enough to tempt you anyway. I’ve had my eye on this for a couple of years and I really can’t put my finger on why I’ve waited so long to buy it. Well in the Feel Unique sale, this baby finally became mine.
I love the name of this highlighter, the take on the term ‘luminizer’ and the jail-bird picture really sets it away from ordinary highlighters.
The compact comes with its own mirror and 8.5g of highlighter seems a fairly sized amount for me. I’ve been using it over a month now under my eyes, cheeks, forehead and just basically where you’d put your contour. I’m not gonna lie I’ve probably only got less than half of it left now from using it too much. oops.
So the shade I’d say is a golden sheen with speckles of white and gold. The buttery like textured powder sets amazing with all kinds of foundation. I’ve tried it with dewy and heavy-duty foundation and both compliment it perfectly. The good thing about this product is its golden glow can be built on. A little swipe of this is subtle but you can build on this if you need to without it looking false and well like a glitter ball basically.
What I’m saying is, whether you use a little or a lot, it just works. Try it with a brush sprayed with setting spray – that looks gorgeous on the cheeks.
I’ve even used it as a light eyeshadow in the inner corners. It just finishes a gorgeous smoky eye look. Theres literally nothing bad I can say about this product if I’m perfectly honest, it seems a hit with all girls of any skintone and a product that has accomplished that needs to be raved about.
Mary-Lou Manizer is a treat to any girls makeup bag and routine and for the fairly mid price of £15, by hell its worth it. At this rate I’ll need to order another one extra soon.
It’s quite frankly fairy dust in a compact. Don’t you think the girl on the front had a slight look of Tinkerbell? Well I think so.
Have you tried this product? What are your thoughts on it.
This has realllly made me want to buy this ahhh! x
