Easter Beauty Edit

Easter Beauty Edit

This was initially going to be a Spring Beauty Edit, but see and though its Easter I thought I’d cater it around the weekends activities. I’m not gonna lie I was so tempted to fit ‘Easter Bunny’ in the title.. But I resisted.

Easter Beauty Edit

Anyhow, whatever you have planned for Easter; whether you’re spending days out with family or having nights out with friends or eating your body weight in chocolate.. Makeup also needs to fit in this!

So with a burst of light pinks, bright shades and glowy faces – it’s the perfect opportunity to doll yourself up and maybe even treat yourself to some Spring or early Summer beauty. If your like me, its time to tuck away those dark lips and dig out those peachy lips and lean more towards lighter bases.

If you want a light coverage with a natural look try Urban Decay Naked Bronzing Balm. Its light enough to be a BB cream but it has enough coverage to hide any blemishes. I like to wear a light primer around this time of year and Guerlain‘s L’Or Radiance is perfect. It’s a liquid based primer with actual gold pieces to really brighten your complexion.

The last couple of weeks I’ve been trying to not do the smoky eye look as often and going for a more bronze and golden look. Since I bought the Too Faced Sugar Pop I’ve tried to be more adventurous with colours and as you can see they are certainly eye-catching shades. But if you want a more toned down look, Mac‘s Eyeshadow Compacts are perfect (above). Or if you want something in the middle, try Bobbi Brown‘s Shimmer Brick Palette – a mixture of pastel colours that are so shimmery.

Now highlighter is kind of an all year product, I mean everyone can’t get enough of it lately and the beauty industry is thriving with lots of different formulas for us to try. Well if you like liquid then I recommend Benefit‘s Girl Meets Pearl for a subtle light pink sheen. For powder you can’t go wrong with Makeup Revolution‘s Blushing Hearts, you can get golden shades or light pinks or even bronzers! I’m using Peachy Pink kisses at the moment.

So for blushes if you like a subtle every day look then try Benefit‘s Hervana. The mixture of powder allows a really light coverage of pink and this works best for me when I have tan on. If your after a more vibrant blush with golden shimmer then I 100% recommend Nars Super Orgasm – one of the best blushes I’ve ever tried.

What about a product with both blush and bronzer? Too Faced Soul mates is a stunning compact of a light peach blush and light bronzer without that horrible orange shade – this ones called Carrie and Big. Perfect for anyone obsessed with Sex and the CityEaster Beauty Edit

Finally the beautiful and the never-ending collection that is: Lipsticks. So I’m pretty versatile when it comes to shades, one day I’m nude the next I’m a bright fuchsia and the next I’m a dark purple.

YSL lipstick spells summer to me, especially this shade above. In 05, the Volupté Shine is a perfectly packaged lippy that adds moisture and shine to lips. It smells amazing too. I love the packaging on this especially with the shade band. Oh how I want more of these.

For a lighter shade then I recommend Mac‘s Lustre lipstick in Flamingo. The perfect light peachy pink. And if you want a lipgloss/lipstick then Makeup Revolution do a great range of Lip Lava’s – the shine of a gloss without the stickiness.

Are any of these in your makeup routine this Easter weekend? Do you use any of these?
