May Favourites

May favourites polished coutureIt only seemed a week ago since my last monthly favourites and today I’m showcasing new products I’ve got to grips with in May and cosmetics I’ve grew to love again. May favourites polished couture

These products are more what I’ve used for nights out actually rather than day time wear. I guess May has been a celebratory month with me finishing university and a lot of my friends birthdays are this month. Yep, a lot of summery cocktails were consumed.

So for a night out you need, a good mascara, self tan, primer.. well everything I guess. Of course the list is endless when you’re doing your makeup but I’ve really loved trying these beauties this month.

To start off with, I am in awe with Full Fat Lashes (here). Now, I got this a while back but after a few applications I’ve got to grips with this wand and my lashes have really seen the benefit. This Charlotte Tilbury mascara has now made me crave their new version’ Legendary lashes, has anyone tried it yet?!

But if I’m feeling really daring, I tried wearing false lashes for the first time in years this month. Threads sent me their Emilloo* lashes to try. I always think lashes look lovely on some beautiful but for me, I find them so hard to apply and worry if they hang off by the end of the night. No gal wants that. These lashes are perfect for a going out look and they looked so natural-looking. I wouldn’t say its convinced me into falsies again but if I’m after a pair of lashes I’d definitely opt for these again. You can find these in Harvey Nichols.

As you all know I love eyeshadow, the glittery and pigmented the better. I’ve never found a product that really gives the definition I’m after till I picked up Urban Decay’s Heavy Metals Liner in Midnight Cowboy. Now this reminds me of when I was younger with the glitter liners for school discos however I don’t use this as a liner. I apply my chosen eye look and then tab this gel over a gold shade. I dab it in with a brush, and honestly it just looks like eyeshadow but it’s just so shimmery. I’ll have to do a separate post on this just to show how this transforms your eye look. Perfect for a bronzed look, trust me!

If your after a cream bronzer, them I 100% recommend Seventeen’s Instant Glow. It works before or after foundation and if you dab it with a beauty sponge, you get the perfect definition of contouring. It’s so reasonable, I’m loving all their products lately.

My brows have certainly tried a lot of products this year from gels to pencil. I love products with a brush to finish the look and Eylure’s Brow Pencil in mid brown is perfect. I’ve used this just on its own for a subtle look but if you pair it with benebrow, your brow game is on point. If you fancy a new pencil then definitely try this, my soap & glory one snapped and I picked this up on a whim because it was the only product with my shade but I’d certainly re-buy now. May favourites polished couture

The amount of self tan products I’ve tried over the years, gosh! But seriously as I’ve got older I’ve got a bit lazy and prefer instant tans that I can just wash off the next day. If you didn’t see my review on Body Blur then here’s a detailed post here. If you want a skin finish that’s buildable, has a lovely sheen then you need Vita Liberata. Even with a natural tan, this will be perfect for night-time – I’m definitely taking this away with me.

Since my summer lipsticks post  I wore Illamasqua’s Soaked Lipstick for my Final Fling ootd and I’ve loved using it for warmer days. It’s a beautiful orange lipstick and if you’re wearing the colour, then this really pops your outfit. The formula is so creamy and long-lasting too.

Finally a new primer has to be featured on this post. I got sent Hylamide Ha Blur* a while ago. The primer is white at first but it dries clear, the formula is similar to smashbox primer and its so creamy. My makeup certainly lasts all day with this product, if you want a more detailed review of this, let me know! It’s definitely up their with porefessional which is usually my go-to primer. May favourites polished coutureMay favourites polished couture

Yep, while I was taking the photos little Ollie had to get in. I managed to get a swatch of all these just before he dived in and after his cute face, I had to include him in my May favourites?!

Do you love any of these? What products would you try?
