We bought our first home

We moved into our first home a few weeks ago and what a whirlwind it’s been!

Wow it feels like forever since I last typed on my blog. How are we all? If you’re reading this thinking I had no idea, well we kept it really quiet on my socials. As I’m sure you’ll agree It’s a huge life step and we didn’t want to jinx ourselves if anything went wrong. Before purchasing our home we had a few setbacks with other houses and being outbid etc. So we patiently waited and now we’re here!! Everyone goes through their house-buying journey in a matter of weeks or months. In our case, it took several months! Luckily it went really quick and allowed us plenty of time to plan what we wanted to do in each room and purchase most things ready in advance. For example the bed and sofa and all our useful essentials.

We’ve had a lot of tips and advice on how to do up our home and what we’ve done in just under two months is insane. When this post was in my drafts originally we were still working on the master bedroom. To date, we’ve finished the master bedroom, dressing room, bathroom and are nearly done in the living room.

Master Bedroom

Like every room, I’m chuffed how it’s all coming together. In our master bedroom, we’ve gone for a grey theme with walk-in wardrobes and crystal accessories. Finished with a winged plush ottoman bed. We’ve shopped local as much as we could for furniture and accessories so if you’d like to know anything in particular just ask in the comments!

Dressing room

This theme continues into the dressing room with grey, white and pink interior. I’ve actually had my Hollywood light mirror for four years now and it still works as good as new! Of course as a beauty blogger, I needed somewhere to keep all my makeup and skincare right? The smallest bedroom has turned into my very own dressing room where I get ready every morning. It’s also filled with my work clothes, shoes and bags too. All tucked away on shelves!

Living room

We’ve nearly finished the living room now, again since originally writing this post! We’re just waiting for our carpets and sofa to arrive in the next coming days. But I just have to show off our media wall that we installed ourselves. This contains a 65″ TV, soundbar, electric fire and built-in shelves. What do you think? I already can’t wait for the colder nights where we can cosy up and watch the fire with a festive film on the TV.

The Wine List

We were very fortunate to receive lovely gifts from our friends and family when we moved in. Ranging from kitchen essentials to ornaments and of course lots of alcohol!

One gift, in particular, was these two bottles of wine from The Wine List. They kindly gifted me a subscription box to try and to welcome us into our home. I think a monthly subscription for wine is definitely a perfect gift idea for someone or a treat/ surprise for yourself every month because ‘wine’ not?!

I’m not a red wine drinker but this one was surprisingly ok, I’ve not converted yet but I’m sure as red wine goes it might be up there. It’s quite dry and crisp with berry notes. But of course, I knew I would easily prefer the white. Now this ones is delicious and definitely a dry pino grigio. We polished this off straight away and would definitely repurchase.

I thought it would be good to mention in here if you’re a wine drinker and want to explore more brands or just fancy an excuse to drink. Plus it comes with tips and tricks to become a wine connoisseur.

Here’s a couple more shots of other rooms in our house such as the utility and bathroom. Like anyone, we just want to put our own stamp on each room. And we’re certainly getting there!
