August is over which now means Autumn is on its way! Last month I’ve enjoyed trying some new skincare as well as two beautiful palettes, here’s my top picks!
Still hasn’t sunken in its September! I do love this month for the new TV shows, the transition into Autumn and most importantly new makeup collections. So in this monthly favourites post I’ve gathered new buys I’m currently loving and products you need to know about!
As I mentioned in my new beauty purchases post, Benefit had a summer sale and another product I picked up on discount was the “That Gal” primer. I’ve only ever had samples of this but loved the radiance glow it leaves before or after foundation. Trying the full size, this pairs lovely with a pearl highlighter. A cheaper alternative is the Botanics Illuminating Radiance Balm. This acts more as a moisturiser but personally, it works really well as a primer if you want that bright glow on dull mornings. I would recommend this with a dewy foundation. Speaking of glow, look at this amazing Laura Geller compact. The Sunset Glow shade comes with a rose gold blush, a light-medium bronzer and cream highlight. I picked this up for £10 in Tkmaxx and its so versatile. Just look at the swatch of the blush below.
Another new buy I’m loving has to be the Barry M lip kit in the metallic shade Allure. I’ve expressed on here how much I love these kits and how they match up to more expensive alternatives. Just like the original, this lip kit features a metallic shimmer and in this particular shade it’s very subtle but once dry it had a golden glow – beautiful! I know red is usually more a winter pick for me, but I’ve loved wearing Leighton Denny’s nail polish in shade ‘Caught Red Handed’. It’s also got a metallic finish and shines so nice in natural light – also matches my new car perfectly!
I featured my first Tarte purchases on the blog a couple of months ago (here) and I can honestly say I’m obsessed with the Maneater eye palette. I wore this on holiday and its my go-to palette for the highlighter swatched above and the gold shade which you can see has been used A LOT. It’s got brown tones that are also perfect for Autumnal shades, the bonus is the eyeshadows smell amazing too. And finally a new coconut body oil I’ve loved trying from Palmers. When I was younger I was never a fan of coconut but now love the smell of it. This oil has been my fave to wear on my legs after shaving and also when I’ve worn self-tan to help smooth and keep my skin hydrated! Even in the winter months I can see myself using this when my skin feels dry.
I’ve got lots of exciting things happening in September such as blogging events but more importantly the Northern Blog Awards. You lot who voted have managed to make me shortlisted for best beauty blogger. Fingers crossed I win! I’m also seeing Christmas themed beauty already – wow! Do let me know if you’ve tried any of these, I love hearing your thoughts and recommendations…
