The ultimate contour kit with creams and powders: is the Naked Skin Shapeshifter worth it?
First up, how beautifully packaged is this? I’ve always been a fan of Urban Decay but their beauty releases lately have ‘slayed’ it with their packaging. This contour palette comes in a sturdy plastic case (like their Smoky palette) and features 5 creams from contour to colour correct and 4 powders.
I picked up the Shapeshifter in light-medium and as you can see the shades aren’t too light nor too dark. I would definitely recommend this if your light to medium skin tones.
I don’t think I have seen a palette designed like this before, keeping the powders and creams separately by a generously sized mirror. This makes it so easy to travel with, the palette would fit in most medium-sized bags!
So what we’re my first thoughts? The pigmentation is insane. I was so impressed with both the creams and powders of how much you can get from one swatch. The creams feel like full coverage but they don’t feel sticky nor too drying to crack. I was a little worried about the contour shade being too dark but once I dabbed this onto my cheekbone with a sponge, it created a subtle bronze. The two colour correctors (3rd and 4th pan) did an amazing job of hiding any blemishes and I’ve recently had a breakout so my spots we’re covered too! The highlighter is basically a cream version of the powder and its a lovely pearl glow. If you own Mary-Lou you’ll love this.
The powders again have brilliant pigmentation, their slightly chalky so definitely tap off your brush before you apply to your face. You only need a little amount especially for the contour, I used a little of them both but noticed the medium contour was better for my face whereas the dark contour is nice for your collarbone. I absolutely love the highlight in this, as I mentioned above its VERY similar to Mary-Lou its kind of a universal shade that would look amazing on anyone. You can see the glow it makes on my selfie below. The light contour makes a great setting powder around your eyes!
Overall I’m really impressed by the Urban Decay Naked Skin Shapeshitfer, it’s quite on the expensive side for £39 but if you think that’s 9 shades you’re getting, some contour palettes are only 4 shades for that price. It’s one of a kind this, for the amazing packaging, its travel friendly the only thing that’s missing is a brush! A double ended brush for the cream and powders would have made this perfect. I still love you though Urban Decay xo
