My first ever foundation purchase from Charlotte Tilbury, so is the flawless filter as revolutionary as it claims?
The Hollywood Flawless Filter in shade 4 claims to have the versatility of a primer, the mega glow of a highlighter and the perfecting properties of your favourite digital filter.
Sounds amazing right? I couldn’t wait to pick this up after all the talk about how gorgeous it looks on the skin. I’ve never tried a base from CT before so I was sceptical of what shade to get. Shade 4 is a neutral golden yellow for medium skin tones and it’s quite a good fit for my skin, if you see the swatches later down.
So the Flawless Filter applies with a sponge wand and instantly, you can see the illumination on your skin. The texture is creamy like a dewy foundation so you can feel the properties of a primer. The first time I used this I added it as a primer along with my go-to foundation YSL Touche Eclat. I’m not gonna lie, the finish looked as good as I expected.
My face was glowing, but not in an oily way – it just looked healthy.
The Flawless Filter works as a complexion booster for super starlit skin and I couldn’t agree more with this. It’s very possible to just wear this on your own. It gives a light even coverage if that’s your kind of thing but for me, I felt like I needed a little bit of my own foundation just so I had a thicker coverage.
I’d definitely wear this on holiday for a light glow for day time and for the night, definitely underneath my YSL foundation. It dries quite quickly on the skin too which I think is where the primer element comes into play again.
Truthfully, there’s nothing not to like!
The application can take a little longer with the wand rather than a nozzle – if you did want to use this as a base, but a part from that my first impressions of Flawless Filter is it’s a good one to invest in. If you’re like me and love all things highlighter, you’ll love the look of this on your skin. It definitely gives you that Sunkissed / Red Carpet ready kind of look. Which still look effortlessly pretty in my opinion.
A superstar youth glow! Regardless of the powder I’m wearing, I could totally see how the Flawless Filter re-vamped my skin and created a dewy shine to my complexion. It’s a total thumbs up from me and no wonder Charlotte Tilbury was using it on all the models at London Fashion Week. If you fancy a splurge and want to add radiance to your foundation routine – treat yourself!
This looks lovely although i always prefer a matte finish i still feel like i want to give this a go! Xxx

I feel like if you added a little of this with your matte foundation, you’d love it! xxx
Been debating whether to try this with it not being classed as a foundation. I quite like light coverage so I bet I’d like it. Thanks for sharing your thoughts 🙂
Aww I hope you like this then!

Your skin looks absolutely flawless and amazing! I gave the Youth Glow a go and didn’t like it as much as Wonderglow, but by the looks of this, the flawless filter may be a new favourite! As someone with dry skin I would love that highlighted/glow look to the skin all day xx

Thanks Saira! All her makeup is definitely, I can’t wait to wear it in the summer already xxx
I wonder what the shade range is like on this. Foundation can be difficult to match for me as my complexion is dark.
Hmm there’s not many to be honest but I hope you get one that suits!
I’ve been eyeing this up since it was released! It sounds so good and I’m glad to see it looks great too. I really really need this. I’m always looking for something that makes my skin look dewy and not oily and I think this might be it. xx
This looks amazing! I love the wonder glow base but I think I might have to pick this up! Love Charlotte Tilbury buts its defo on the more expensive side!
