It’s the time of the year where we dust off our warm coats, dark berry shades are back out – yep Autumn is here! My September favourites have included an amazing contour kit, a berry shade or two & a golden glow.
Even though the dark nights are coming back and the cold air is creeping in, I’m still all for a bit of bronze and glow. I guess I just like to have a healthy glow all year round, even when Summer has finished. So three products I’ve loved using throughout this month have included:
Urban Decay Shapeshifter – This is still kind of a new purchase but I’ve loved using this for my nights out in September. I’ve used the cream shades underneath foundation and then the powders on top. The cream powder is perfect at hiding dark circles and the highlighter is pretty good too. The texture and pigmentation as expected for UD, is amazing, I just love the packaging of this. If you want a full review of this, click here – I mentioned how similar the highlight was to Mary-Lou.
The Balm Betty-Lou Manizer – The sister of Mary-Lou and one of the best bronzers I’ve tried, if you love a bit of shimmer. It looks dark but it provides a light-medium shade and don’t like the shimmer put you off, its only subtle but pairs lovely with your fave highlighter. I will definitely be reaching for this instead of matte powders when I want that ‘glow’.
Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Glow – Considering this is only a sample size I’ve had this since July! You only need a pea-size on each check on top of your foundation for that dewy radiance finish. Looks great on its own or of course under a highlighter. As you can see I’m not kidding when I say I want to be glowing all year round – especially now its Autumn.
Leighton Denny Winter Garden – As the name suggests, this polish is a lovely dark berry colour – a shade you’d typically find in your garden this time of year. It’s a deep purple / burgundy shade and I’ve loved wearing this throughout September. It’s part of Leighton Denny’s A/W17 Heritage range – the collection is beautiful.
Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Lips – I’ve only just recently picked this up in the shade Dangerous Liason. It’s a deep true red with again a warm burgundy tone. I mentioned this in one of my latest posts here. I must admit I’m super impressed by the pigment and durability on this – it doesn’t budge all night and still feels creamy – no dry or crumble feeling. If you fancy a splurge, I’d suggest trying one of these.
Vichy Dermablend Setting Powder – A product I neglected until recently. I usually would use setting sprays but for the last few weeks I’ve been reaching for Vichy’s Dermablend and honestly your makeup lasts all night / day with this! My friends have also used this for ‘baking’ and said how great it was.
Now it’s October do keep checking back on my blog, I’ll be featuring lots of Halloween and Autumn inspired posts such as makeup tutorials, treats from Lush and also a spooky event in London.
Have you tried any of these?
