May & June Favourites

A monthly round-up of the products I’m currently loving!

Can you believe we’re in July already? I didn’t get round to writing my May favourites so I thought I’d mix them up into one today.

Oh and I’ve got some exciting news to year, I’ve only been shortlisted for ‘Best Beauty Blogger’ in the Northern Blog Awards. How amazing?! I will let you all know when the public vote is open, so shocked I’ve been picked out of hundreds of blogs – thank you everyone who voted!

Anyway back to this beauty bundle…

The most exciting purchase I’ve made in a while has to be the new Urban Decay Naked Heat palette. If you want to see swatches click here. It’s just got a beautiful array of colours and it definitely is a must this summer! With 12 new shades I’m loving the metallic shimmers, think rose gold meets bronze – enough said. Another fab palette is the Nip+Fab highlight palette. It features a gorgeous mix of light iridescent, golden shimmer to beige bronzes. Each shade is quite wearable, the darkest bronzes are good to apply on your chest bones to pair with your sun-kissed tan. It’s such an affordable palette and the pigmentation of these are amazing, super buttery too.

I’m all for trying new mascaras, Maybelline’s Lash Sensational has been on my wishlist for ages after seeing so many good reviews. I finally picked it up in May and I love it. It curls your lashes so easily and for a drugstore mascara, its brilliant! Speaking of eye products I’ve been reaching for Benefit’s High Brow Glow a lot lately. It’s a creamy highlighter for your brow bone and it’s just so lovely to dab on after using your brow products, as you can see in the swatch below its glowy!

If you fancy trying a gradual tan, I would recommend St Tropez Tinted Gradual Tan. It comes out like a dewy foundation and sets straight away, as the day goes on it gets a little darker but its much more of a natural glow rather than instant – there’s now fake tan smell either, win win.

A while ago I also picked up my first Tarte products (here) and I’ve loved trying their foundation. The Amazonian Clay is a full coverage foundation that I actually like! I normally prefer medium dewy finishes but this feels really nice on for me. It definitely lasts all day when I’m at work and I quite like the matte finish it gives. Maybelline’s Eye Eraser is a must as well! I love the sponge applicator, it doesn’t crease and it provides such a creamy finish to hide those dark circles – can’t believe I haven’t tried this before!

If you love a nude lipstick, you need to try Too Faced’s Sweet Peach Oil. It’s a creamy liquid lipstick that applies like a gloss but sets matte. I picked up the shade Papa Don’t Peach and as you can see its a gorgeous colour. It’s lovely on its own or over the top of a lipstick, it makes a good ombre effect too. Finally with the gorgeous weather we’ve had lately and what comes along with it.. The heat I’ve needed Garniers Moisture Bomb Mist. It’s a light hydrating mist that smells amazing but instantly cools you down. It also has SPF 30 in it too so if you can’t be pestered with applying suncream all the time to the face, this is a great alternative!

So there you have it, my May and June favourites! Lots of exciting products I’ll be using throughout the summer and hopefully some recommendations for you. I’ll be jetting away to Ibiza next week so I guess these are also holiday essentials I’ll be packing.

Have you tried any of these?
